Compute Module 5 is now available!

On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, the Raspberry Pi Foundation announced the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5).
PiLink has also ordered the CM5 and is testing it on actual devices.
With its enhanced CPU performance and functions, the CM5 is expected to expand the range of industrial applications for the Raspberry Pi.

Same form factor as CM4

The conventional CM4 (top photo) and CM5 (bottom photo) have the same form factor. When placed side by side, you can see that the size and shape remain the same.

In the current model of PiLink’s industrial Raspberry Pi, the PL-R4 CM4 is mounted on the carry board It is also possible to switch from CM4 to CM5 on the same carry board*.
*The current carry board for the PL-R4 is USB 2.0.

Easy to upgrade specs by replacing CM4 to CM5

The CM4’s SoC was BCM2711 1.5GHz, whereas the CM5 is BCM2712 2.4GHz, the same as the Raspberry Pi 5.
Simply by replacing the Compute Module, specifications can be upgraded without major design changes.

If you are considering on-site use of Raspberry Pi 5 or switching from CM4 to CM5, please contact us to discuss your project.
