Announcing the PL-R5 Industrial Raspberry Pi with Raspberry Pi CM5 as a standard feature
-Supports Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) and USB 3.0, ideal for embedded applications-.

The latest model of industrial Raspberry Pi with CM5

This product is the latest model in the industrial Raspberry Pi PL-R series, featuring a design that combines the stability, reliability, and expandability required in industrial settings. The new model is equipped with the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5). The IP65 waterproof design allows for outdoor use.
The new interface includes a USB 3.0 port and a single-pair Ethernet (SPE) port*, and an option to add an AI accelerator to the M.2 slot for expansion. The new CM5 offers a more flexible and high-performance option for developing applications for smart factories and robotics.

*Single pair Ethernet port is implemented in IP20 type

  • Raspberry Pi: Compute Module 5
  • Processor: Broadcom BCM2712, Quad core-A76 @ 2.4GHz
  • Memory: eMMC 64GB (standard), RAM 8GB (standard)
  • Power supply range: DC9V to 40V
  • Operating temperature range: -20 to 60°C
  • Options: Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, LTE, high-capacity SSD, AI accelerator Hailo, etc.

Substrate can be provided for embedded applications

In addition to the model with a housing, PL-R5 is also available in a board type without a housing. The PL-R5 can be flexibly adapted to customers who value design flexibility, such as incorporation into customer-specified enclosures, development for incorporation into existing equipment, and adoption for OEM products.

Pioneering single-pair Ethernet (SPE) T1S support in the industry

Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) is an Ethernet technology that allows communication over a single pair (two cores). It is mainly used to reduce wiring and space requirements for industrial equipment and IoT devices. The PL-R5 SPE supports the T1S (10BASE-T1S) standard, which also supports multi-drop connections, making it possible to connect up to 8 nodes. The PL-R5 SPE is compatible with the T1S (10BASE-T1S) standard and supports multi-drop connections.

Up to 8 nodes can be connected using T-branching or multi-drop configuration

The R5 has 3 Gigabit LAN ports* including single pair Ethernet (SPE) for wired communications and optional wireless (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth) and LTE support.

*3 LAN ports are for IP20 specification; M8 1000Mpbs x 1 port for IP65 specification.

We provide a communication infrastructure that is both reliable and easy to install for integration into space-saving equipment such as articulated robots and AGV/AMR, and for on-site equipment coordination, remote monitoring, operational data collection, and maintenance and preservation, where the communication environment is an issue.

SPE connection cable: single twisted pair, solid or stranded wire (AWG22–26)
